Perhaps not the most direct route to South Australia but Clara has a birthday and who can resist cake. It started raining during the night. Even though the forecast was for showers and 1-5 mm of rain. It rained all the way from Monto to Biloela. In the end Bilo had 30mm of rain.

Camped on the banks of the Neil Turner Weir at Mitchell. Pretty cool night frost in the morning. Still it made for some nice shots.

Well I know the township of Quilpie is on the horizon.

It was good to stay in a caravan park last night. No generators starting up just on tea time. No uncontrolled dogs racing around camp. No chain saws. No smelly campfires. and as a bonus we get to do a load of washing today.

Quilpie is near the Bullo River. I rode out of town to  walk along the river walk. Quite  good with lots of signage.

Eromanga famous for for the largest dinosaur. This sculpture was originally in Brisbane and covered with crocheted fabric. It is now on the entrance to  this small town. Apparently the town in Australia that is furtherest from the ocean.

Bit of da ja vue as we are in Windorah tonight where we were supposed to start of Simpson Desert trip. We had or meal at the pub to celebrate.

Came across the Cooper's Creek flood plain. It is green and lush, easy to see why it is such good cattle fattening county. I wonder if that has anything to do with the amount of cattle trucks.

We have seen a few of these today.
